Beautiful photos are fun, but we all know sometimes it gets a lot worse before it gets better! Too muddy today to even move the bamboo palette off the walk. Back tomorrow!

GREEN BLESSING
I felt like I was receiving a blessing when I passed this Georgetown home! What a gorgeous way to add greenery when your front garden is only 10′ deep.
Topiary Madness
Who left the gate open?! Fun at Green Animals, Portsmouth, RI.
Fall Planting is Best
This is the best time to get new plants in the ground. Imagine how wonderful your winter garden would look if you put in some winterberries!
Green cover
Groundcovers aren’t the most exciting thing to talk about, but they do a valuable job of providing green cover and controlling erosion. Popular choices in the DC area include Euphorbia varieties (shown), pachysandra, ajuga, periwinkle, and Virginia Creeper.
Redbuds in the Summer Landscape
Redbuds (Cercis canadensis) add so much to the summer landscape after their spectacular spring bloom. This variety, ‘Forest Pansy’, has gorgeous purple leaves that create a wonderful contrast to other foliage. They’re easy to find and easy to grow, too.
EEEK!
Assassin bugs are actually beneficials! They don’t harm your plants and they eat other bugs that do- by repeatedly stabbing them and sucking out their juices. Nature- it’s so violent!
I love Boxwood!
Autumn Color at the Stoplight!
Sometimes I have to take pictures out of my car window…
